Australian Military Bank is transforming its Financial Crime operations capability and is looking for a Transaction Monitoring Analyst for its Financial Crime Operations team.

This role is responsible to investigate transaction monitoring, customer screening (PEP, sanctions and adverse media) and transaction screening alerts, and apply appropriate risk management treatment (e.g., ECDD) to ensure compliance with AML/CTF Program. This role will also support projects and initiatives related to enhancement and maturity of Transaction Monitoring program, SMR reporting, unusual activity investigations and customer risk rating calculations.

Your Role

Reporting to the Head of AML Compliance and Fraud, this role is responsible to investigate transaction monitoring, customer screening (PEP, sanctions and adverse media) and transaction screening alerts, and apply appropriate risk management treatment (e.g., ECDD) to ensure compliance with AML/CTF Program. This role will also support projects and initiatives related to enhancement and maturity of Transaction Monitoring program, SMR reporting, unusual activity investigations and customer risk rating calculations.

About You

To be successful in the role you will demonstrate the below key attributes and experience:

At least 2 years of experience in a similar role

Sound understanding of the principles of KYC, ECDD and financial crime investigations.

Sound understanding of and experience in submitting SMR and TTRs to AUSTRAC.

Clear and analytical thinker, comfortable with analysis and interpretation of data, reporting and Investigation skills.

Ability to draft professional documents and presentations using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for presentation to Executives and Risk Committees.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams)

Ability to use complex techniques in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.

Tertiary Qualifications in related discipline or equivalent
