Training and Outreach Coordinator

CSIRO

  • Lead and promote the Atlas of Living Australia’s higher education outreach activities
  • Design and deliver training products for research, government, industry and community users
  • Draw on your high-level people skills to increase awareness of our data, services and tools

Hosted by CSIRO, the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA) is Australia’s national biodiversity data infrastructure, providing data, products and services to over 75,000 users.  The ALA uses and produces open-source software to help make Australian biodiversity data discoverable and reusable online.  The ALA is the Australian node of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF).

As the ALA Training and Outreach Coordinator, you will design, develop, and coordinate our training, outreach, and related programs to improve awareness and uptake of ALA data, services and tools. The role will require liaison with major stakeholder groups including the higher education sector, peak bodies, partner NCRIS facilities and other biodiversity data infrastructures such as GBIF. You will manage engagement and delivery activities, often via online conferencing, but will potentially need to undertake some interstate travel as well.  As part of the Science and Decision Support team, you will work closely with the communications and digital content teams to ensure there is consistency of products across the ALA.
