Trainee Biomedical Scientist


Job overview

The department processes over 1,000,000 specimens per annum. We employ over 100 staff, and provide a comprehensive 7 day service covering bacteriology, mycobacteriology, mycology, virology, serology and parasitology, and molecular testing.  You will rotate across these sections. You will be required to work shifts on a 24/7 rota system, which includes weekend and bank holiday working, and early/day/late/night shifts.  

Please note this post is for Trainee Biomedical Scientists only, who have an accredited degree or are studying one part-time. We can support these candidates to complete their registration portfolios. The successful candidate will complete their portfolio while working with us in a progressional role using NHS Training Contract Annex 21, and then once registered will start as a Band 5 Biomedical Scientist.
