Job Summary:

The Tobacco Enforcement Specialist will assist the State Program Coordinator in the recruitment and training of youth team members. They will coordinate and work with youth team members to conduct FDA Tobacco Undercover Buy inspections as well as conduct Advertising and Labeling inspections to determine retailer compliance with federal law.

Responsibilities: Delivers and assists with planning outreach program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. May assist with tracking and managing the outreach program budget.
  • 10% Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program
  • 20% Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program
  • 60% Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members
  • 5% Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials
  • 5% Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health

Health Sciences, Education, Law enforcement or related work experience required.

Qualifications:

– Experience using laptops, smart phones and web based/logbook reporting systems
– Proven experience working collaboratively and effectively with individuals from a variety of racial, ethnic, religious , and cultural backgrounds
– Experience building partnerships and working within a team environment to accomplish goals
– Experience working with and/or supervising teen-age youth and young adults
– Ability to work evenings and weekends to complete minor Undercover Buys
– Experience working in tobacco prevention and control including youth access to tobacco products
– Outstanding written and interpersonal communications skills
– Collaborative and diplomatic relationship style
– Demonstrated ability to take initiative
– Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
– Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change
– Ability to work remote

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 50% – 100%
It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $42,600 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position would be located or would relocate to Northwestern WI.
