Summary of Job Duties:

Tobacco Cessation Counselling and Follow Up (65%)
Provides high quality tobacco cessation support and pharmacological advice in accordance with the Centers of Disease Control Tobacco Cessation Guidelines to those wishing to stop tobacco product use.
Provides regular follow up with (face to face, telephone, test, My Chart and Teams, etc) to clients committed to tobacco cessation.
Responds to client’s phone calls and requests for information within 24 hours.
Documents all client interactions in patients EMR.
Maintains and analysis outcome data to identify opportunities for program improvement.
Explores opportunities for tobacco cessation grant funding and submits proposals.
Improves UAMS and community awareness of Tobacco Cessation opportunities (10%)
Promotes Tobacco Cessation programs to clinics and other groups to ensure adequate client numbers, including face to face outreach, production/display of advertising materials, and other promotional initiatives.
Promotes Tobacco Cessation efforts of employees at UAMS by regularly engaging with staff members at UAMS locations

Qualifications:

Education, general: Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or related field.  Five years Tobacco Cessation experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.

Education, special or professional:

Experience, length in years and kind: One year of Tobacco Cessation Coaching/Counselling Experience;

Licenses, certificates, or registration:  Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification

Special knowledge, abilities and skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired or Preferred Qualifications or Competencies (non-essential the applicant have at the time of hire) Course work in grant writing and/or grant management

Education, special or professional: Course work in grant writing and administration

Experience, length in years and kind: 

Licenses, certificates, or registration: Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification
