Job Summary The Testing Coordinator will support the daily operations for the Academic Testing Center for test administration, proctoring and completion efforts. Liaison with the University Advising Center and other Colleges on campus for various student related initiatives and business processes. Provide information to help students identify tests they may want to take for undergraduate or graduate admission or credit by examination. Provide professional customer service and offer guidance and information to supplement and enhance the student experience and their efforts to persist and graduate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise the overall administration of testing programs,including the coordination of staff activities, facilities, and materials.
  • Maintain records of student test scores and provide advice and assistance in the interpretation of test results to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ensure optimum testing conditions are maintained. Liaise with departments on campus to coordinate in-house proctoring, exam grading and credit by exam standards. Serve as point person for in-house exams for local school districts.
  • Supervise graduate proctors and undergraduate student assistants. Backup lab proctor during times of need.
  • Manage procedures for the petition for credit process.
  • Maintain testing accuracy and security. Coordinate institutional scoring and testing registration.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated willingness and/or experience working collaboratively with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and experiences.
  • The ability to work evening and weekends (Saturday).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in related field.
  • One year of experience working with college students or adolescents in an advising capacity or the equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local policies and procedures governing academic advising functions; and resources provided by academic advising associations such as NACADA and TEXAAN.
  • A working knowledge and ability to use the University Catalog is essential.
  • Skill in written and verbal interpersonal communication; organizing information; problem solving; adhering to deadlines and time management; taking initiative; outreach; and navigating student information systems.
  • Ability to work professionally, collaboratively, and independently; and proficiently use Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to travel to different campus locations.
  • May include remote and virtual academic advising work outside an office.
