TERM ASSISTANT TEACHING PROFESSOR (MONCTON)
The Faculty of Nursing & Health Sciences at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) invites applications from qualified individuals for a two (2) year term position as an Assistant Teaching Professor with the possibility of renewal. The position will commence on April 1, 2026. Expertise in the use of advanced technologies and simulation in both classroom and clinical teaching is an asset. Applicants should demonstrate a strong background in clinical practice in acute and complex care across the lifespan. The position is situated at Moncton site and involves a combination of remote and in-person classroom, clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilities in the undergraduate program.
Faculty Background: Founded in 1785, UNB is one of the oldest public universities in North America which stands on the unsurrendered and unceded traditional Wolastoqey land. The Faculty of Nursing & Health Sciences has a long-standing history offering nursing education in New Brunswick with its first undergraduate degree program being launched in 1958 and graduate degree program in 1995. The Faculty of Nursing & Health Sciences is situated on the UNB Fredericton campus, UNB Saint John campus, has a Moncton site, and offers a collaborative program with national and international partners. In partnership with the Horizon Health Network, we have an innovative primary health care clinic, the Fredericton Downtown Community Health Centre, offering experiential learning.
Across these locations, the Faculty of Nursing & Health Sciences offers a range of pathways toward earning Bachelor, Master and PhD of Nursing degrees that include options for individuals entering directly from high school, with university degree credits, a university degree, or with a practical nurse diploma. Undergraduate offerings include a 4-year in-person program (Fredericton and Saint John), a 3-year in-person program (Saint John), a 2-year in-person accelerated program (Moncton), and a Licensed Practical Nurse to Bachelor of Nursing (LPN-BN) pathway offered in-person (Fredericton and Saint John) and via remote delivery (Learn Where You Live). The Faculty of Nursing & Health Sciences also offers a dual degree program with the Manipal Academy of Higher Education College of Nursing in India. Graduate program offerings include a Master of Nursing Thesis/Report or Master of Nursing Advanced Nurse Practitioner and a PhD program.
The Bachelor of Nursing program is accredited by the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing and is approved by the College of Nurses of New Brunswick. Across our undergraduate and graduate programs, curricula are based on principles of primary health care, caring, and social justice and are designed to support students in meeting core program abilities as well as entry level competencies and standards of practice.
Role Qualifications & Expectations: The successful candidate must hold an earned Master’s in Nursing. The successful candidate will be involved with both remote and in-person teaching responsibilities in the undergraduate programs; travel may be required to support teaching and learning at other sites. Experience using various advanced technologies to support teaching and learning is an asset. A demonstrated ability to teach effectively in-person and via virtual platforms is expected as well as experience with simulation. Given that allprogramming is delivered in English, strong proficiency in the English language (spoken and written) is required. Service work within the university and the community is expected and the successful applicant will actively participate in faculty governance and decision-making within the Faculty of Nursing & Health Sciences.
The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain registration with the College of Nurses of New Brunswick and be registered prior to beginning this appointment. International applications should include evidence of the College of Nurses of New Brunswick registration process.

The salary range for this position is defined in the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) 2022-2025 Collective Agreement section 36B.
