TERM ASSISTANT TEACHING PROFESSOR IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

The University of New Brunswick (UNB), Department of Psychology, Fredericton invites applications for a 3-year 0.6 FTE Full-Time Equivalent Term Assistant Teaching Professor in Clinical Psychology at the Psychological Wellness Centre (PWC) effective July 1, 2026. The PWC is the Department of Psychology’s in-house training clinic providing training opportunities in assessment and therapy for Clinical Psychology PhD students. The PWC offers low-cost services to UNB students and the wider Fredericton community. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
The salary range and fringe benefits for this position is defined in the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) 2022 – 2025 Collective Agreement sections 35 and 36B.
The Assistant Teaching Professor will be the Director of an exciting, newly created pre-doctoral internship in school and clinical psychology housed at the PWC and in New Brunswick schools. The internship was created through a partnership between UNB and the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. The Assistant Teaching Professor will be responsible for administrative management of the internship, supervision of interns at the PWC, and liaising with internship supervisors and partners. In addition, the position involves providing evidence-based supervision to first-, second-, and third-year Clinical Psychology PhD students completing practicum placements at the PWC.
The ideal candidate will have child/adolescent-focused clinical training, experience, and interests and be able to supervise trainees in child/adolescent assessment (psychoeducational) and child/adolescent therapy. Other clinical interests relevant to the provision of community mental health services (e.g., experience in group therapy) would be an asset. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is excited about teaching and training the next generation of clinical psychologists.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Clinical Psychology, be registered (or eligible for licensing) with the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick, show strong evidence of effectiveness in evidence-based clinical supervision, and be committed to the scientist-practitioner model.
The Department of Psychology in Fredericton has BA and BSc majors and honours programs as well as PhD programs in Psychology and Clinical Psychology (CPA accredited).
