Position Summary The Loewenberg College of Nursing invites applications for track/tenured, Assistant/Associate Professor faculty positions for a nine-month appointment. Well-qualified candidates will be experienced and committed to teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Minimum Position Qualifications 1. Doctoral degree in nursing OR a doctorate in a related discipline with a baccalaureate or graduate degree in nursing
2. A current RN license in Tennessee or eligibility for licensure in Tennessee
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who present the following:

  • Teaching experience, certification, and a focused program of research and scholarly activity that complements existing school research and scholarship focus.
Special Conditions Tenure track faculty have teaching, research and scholarship, and service expectations. The primary teaching responsibilities will be assigned across undergraduate and graduate nursing programs to meet the LCON’s needs and include student advising. A clear direction for research and scholarly activity is required. Tenure track faculty are expected to engage in professional and community service and outreach as well as contribute to ongoing program evaluation and improvement. Successful candidates will be expected to relocate to Memphis and maintain a campus presence as part of the College of Nursing faculty. Applicants for these positions should demonstrate the potential for high-quality teaching and a sponsored program of research.
