The Department of Astrophysics offers a lively research environment with presently two professor groups involved in studies of planet formation and the physics and chemistry of exoplanetary atmospheres. The department is also extensively involved in the development of ongoing and upcoming key space observatories relevant for (exo)planetary studies –such as Cheops, Smile, PLATO, Ariel, and Athena– that can potentially support the candidate and their group.
