Tenure-track Positions at The HIT Center for Life Sciences, China

Harbin Institute of Technology (http://www.hit.edu.cn/), which is affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, has three campuses in Harbin, Weihai and Shenzhen. HIT was founded in 1920 and recognized as one of the two model universities in 1951 for studying foreign higher education models. In 1954, it was named one of the six key educational institutions of higher education by the nation. In 1996, it was in the first batch of universities to enter the former Project 211. In 1999, it was identified as one of the 9 universities in the first batch of “985 Project”. In 2017, it was selected as one of the “Double First-class” universities in China.

The HIT Center for Life Sciences (HCLS) (http://hcls.hit.edu.cn) was established in 2016. As the first special zone of HIT, HCLS has relatively independent academic, personnel employment and financial autonomy as well as postgraduate training system.

HCLS has state-of-the-art core facilities including electron microscopy platform, imaging platform, mass spectrometry platform and experimental animal platform. In line with international standards, HCLS runs the Tenure-track system and PI responsibility system and strives to develop into world-class life science research institution in a relatively short period of time.

Qualifications

Research Directions: neuroscience, microbiology and immunology, biophysical and structural biology (cryo-electron microscopy direction), metabolomics, chemical biology, nano-biomaterials and cellular tissue engineering, proteomics, DNA damage and repair, genome editing, molecular bio-breeding or translational application fields.

Required qualifications: The candidate must have a Ph.D. or M.D. with several years of postdoctoral or independent research experience, who has achieved internationally impactful scientific results in recent years and be able to conduct independent and innovative research. The candidate should have the potential to achieve international excellence in his/her discipline in the future.

Salary and Benefits

Successful candidates are expected to be appointed as independent PI and offered an internationally competitive recruiting package.
