The Faculty of Education invites applications for a tenure-track position in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at the Assistant Professor rank, starting July 1, 2024.

Applicants should hold a doctorate or be close to the completion of this degree, with expertise in two or more TESOL-related areas such as: applied linguistics, additional language pedagogy, additional language acquisition, phonology and phonetics, vocabulary acquisition and instruction, learning disabilities or challenges as it relates to language learning, socio-cultural aspects of language learning, pragmatics and discourse analysis, and the use of technology to support language learning. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a broad mastery of theory-informed scholarship in TESOL with applications to K-12 or adult language education contexts.

The successful candidate will be able to teach courses about supporting additional language learners in both the BEd and the TESOL graduate program. Experience teaching at the K-12, BEd, and graduate level, would be an asset. In addition, TESL Canada Professional Standard Three Certification would also be an asset.

Workload includes teaching, research, and collegial service. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Agreement with the Mount Saint Vincent University Faculty Association. The position is subject to final budgetary approval.
