Employment Type: PermanentFields of Expertise – Mobility and ProductionEnvironmental stress and scarcity of raw materials necessitate a fundamental rethinking also in mobility and production. Researchers in the Field of Expertise (FoE) Mobility & Production – one of the five research focus areas of Graz University of Technology – focus on this complex area. They investigate novel mobility systems, vehicle technologies and propulsion systems in the same way as information and data transmission for traffic control and object positioning.The scientific community within this FoE develops more economical and time-saving manufacturing processes that allow innovative design changes, utilize the advantages of new materials and drives manufacturing towards a new level of precision work. All these research results deliver ground breaking solutions for the today’s challenges in the terrestrial, sea and air traffic, production engineering and its management principles.For this position, we are seeking a highly qualified and scientifically excellent person who has committed her/his/their specialization in one of the following fields of electrical and information engineering:Measurement of traffic related emissions
Condition monitoring, predictive maintenance and second life determination of drive-train components and systems
Instrumentation and testing of novel transportation systems, drive-train components and sustainable energy supply
The professorship will be part of the Field of Expertise Mobility and Production described atBased on the research and teaching focus, the candidate will be assigned to a matching institute and faculty that participate in this Field of Expertise.
Employment Requirements
PhD-level university education in disciplines relevant for the position
Selection Criteria
Outstanding achievements in research, excellent publication record and international reputation.
International experience in form of a PhD or Post-Doc.
Experience in the design and implementation of international research projects as well as willingness and ability to establish and lead a research group.
Enthusiasm for excellent teaching, teaching experience as well as the ability and willingness to teach in all curricular stages (Bachelor, Master, Doctorate), supervise theses and promote young scientists.

To ensure effective international representation of the research group and its work, excellent spoken and written competence in English is required. Specifically, the willingness to teach courses in English is expected. Fluency in German or the willingness to acquire it is also required. The successful candidate is also expected to transfer her/his residence to the area of Graz.The advertised position is a tenure-track career position. (pursuant to § 99 para. 5 of the Universities Act) After the conclusion of a qualification agreement, the job holder is appointed as an Assistant Professor. After a positive evaluation of the qualification agreement, the position will be turned into a position as Associate Professor.The position will be paid according to category B1 of the collective agreement for employees of Austrian universities, stipulating an initial gross salary of EUR 5,251.10 (14 x per year).
