The Department of Geology at the University of Puerto Rico seeks to fill a tenure track position in Mineralogy-Geochemistry and/or Geohydrology-Near surface geophysics.

We seek candidates who can effectively teach basic level earth science courses as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in their field of specialization. Teaching responsibilities include advising and directing undergraduate research and MS theses.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a program of externally funded research specific to their field of specialization and/or in interdisciplinary collaborations in the earth sciences, environmental sciences or natural hazards and resources.

Applicants must hold a Doctorate in Earth Sciences from an accredited university and have demonstrated the ability to teach and communicate effectively in English and/or Spanish, preferably in both.
