Job Summary:
This position will report to the Dining Operations Manager. The Temporary Dining Operations Support Associate will assist in ensuring vendor contract compliance, quality assurance, culinary excellence, customer service, and systematic verification of the implementation of best practices in dining by the food service vendor. This position will play an integral role in enforcing safety and quality standards, and ensuring communication is accurate and consistent between campus partners. The Temporary Dining Operations Support Associate will also assist the Operations Department in analyzing customer feedback, performance data, and daily audit reports on the safety and quality of food, service, and facilities to ensure there is continuous improvement in processes and programs.
This position allows for a flexible work schedule. Example shifts include but are not limited to: Weekdays 11:00am -7:30pm, 12:00pm – 8:30pm, 2:00pm -10:30pm, and 7:00am – 3:30pm shift; Saturday and Sundays 7:00am – 3:30pm and 12:00pm – 8:30pm shift.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Operations Manager in creating a vibrant and culinary diverse dining program that fosters community, safety, and service.
- Report daily observations of food quality, safety and sanitation, pest control, equipment negligence and management oversight.
- Support catering orders, observe events, and verify execution of meal periods, programs, and service periods.
- Assist the organization in inventory and asset management, as well as maintain storage areas.
- Assist the Operations team with ensuring vendor compliance with all health department, HACCP, OSHA, and university policies and procedures.
- Cover shifts during closed office business hours, and report emergencies to the Manager or Director on call.
- Utilize department technology to report observations, capture service requests, and compose e-mails regarding operational needs and services.
- Other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements
Education, Experience, or Certifications:
Education:
- High school diploma required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years working within the foodservice industry
- Knowledge of food trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
Certifications:
- Current ServSafe® certified.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Perform some tasks outdoors.
- Acclimate to various weather conditions and withstand constant motion.
- Bend, crouch, or sit.
- Stand or walk for 4 hours or more.
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Lift at least 50lbs.
