Process Overview*
Infrastructure Automation Services Operations team is responsible for providing seamless production operation support for Enterprise Automation and Orchestration toolsets and manage the availability, stability and maintenance of its underlying infrastructure. Team is also responsible to drive SRE best practices to provides a highly integrated, ubiquitously available, data driven environment to ensure delivery of desired business outcomes focused on reducing risk and exploiting opportunities via automation, orchestration and advanced analytics, transparency and observability.
Job Description*
Infrastructure Automation Services Operation / SRE team is seeking a mid-to-senior level Engineer with experience in providing application production support. This role requires a strong IT professional providing Production Support for multiple infrastructure applications and systems, while driving continued IT Operations Management service improvements. Possess strong analytical ability in solving IT problems, working towards automation, and elimination of systems and or process bottlenecks. Ability to lead and coordinate timely issue resolution for critical applications in partnership with other technicians from database, web services, network, storage, OS system admin, application developer, and management teams. Experience with UNIX Administration, Perl and Python scripting, SQL query, System Analyst, web services, monitoring, documentation, change control, troubleshooting, PowerShell, and process improvement.
Responsibilities*
- Work with application owners, both Business owners and Engineering teams, along with operation services, to establish Business and Technical monitoring strategies, including instrumentation of the systems, collection of metrics, development of KPIs, and configuration of alerting by static and dynamic thresholds through use of statistical analysis and machine learning.
- Root cause analysis and Troubleshooting application, infrastructure issues.
- Application agent communication issue remediation
- Manage production changes, releases, and upgrades in a collaborative environment in accordance with lifecycle methodology and risk guidelines and data management.
- Identifying and implementing Automation opportunities
- Support Triage efforts during Major Incidents by deconstructing application performance, interoperability, instrumentation, and human factors to facilitate resolution and development of resilient solutions.
- Manages activities related to maintenance of the application systems that are running the daily operations of the firm.
- Ability to work as part of a team – Candidate will work closely with both the Engineering, Development, and other Operational teams.
- Monitor Production environments / scheduled jobs and identify improvement to monitoring.
- Capture technical information from the relevant stakeholders and synthesize it into useful information in various formats for senior management.
- Demonstrate proficiency with BMC Remedy, JIRA, ServiceNow, Analytics and perform tasks using the tools.
Requirements
Education: BE/B. Tech/MCA/Graduate with computer Science/IT steam
Experience: 6+ years of relative experience
Foundational Skills:
- Strong Linux system administration
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, PERL, Shell, Ruby)
- Proven ability to create automation capable of executing complex workflows.
- Proficiency in designing application role-based access models and knowledge of related security components.
- Should possess strong communication skills.
Desired Job Skills:
- Experience on Security and Automation tools such as CrowdStrike, Tanium, Ansible, BMC TSO, Jfrog Artifactory
- Knowledge with Traceable or other API discovery solution
- Knowledge on Cloud, Container and Kubernetes technologies
Work Timings* (IST – 9 hrs shift)
- Two Shifts (Shift 1- 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM / Shift 2 – 1:30 PM – 10:30 PM)
- Weekend Shift: Yes (Rotational)
