Technician / Skills Instructor – Sound Production

Within the Faculty, the School of Media and Performing Arts is an award-winning, creative hub that has a history of innovation and industry collaboration. The School offers highly regarded undergraduate and postgraduate courses in film, photography and media production, popular music and music production, acting, journalism and communication, digital and immersive media.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and creative individual who is passionate about teaching the next generation of film and music graduates and developing their technical skills and talents that leads them to create innovative sound production and recording. Applicants need to be practice-based and passionate about education, with the ability to deliver technical workshops and support sound production on Film, Music, Foley and contribute to all aspects of performance activities. The ideal candidate will be an experienced technical educator who understands the need for theory-informed practice and industry-related creativity in sound production.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ongoing innovation and improvement in pedagogy; those without a teaching qualification will need to undertake Coventry University’s PGCHE and/or secure HEA fellowship. Applicants will also need to demonstrate an ability to support scholarly activity and /or enterprise through their technical expertise and industry experience in the subject area.
