The Faculty of Health Sciences has an ambitious plan for sustainable, inclusive growth, development, innovation and diversification that will play a leading role in improving the health, wellbeing and economy of Hull and the Humberside region. At the University of Hull we believe there’s a spark of extraordinary in everyone and with the right opportunities ahead and a dedicated team behind, you too can let it shine.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Faculty Technical Services Team supporting the research and teaching activities across the Centre for Biomedicine and the Institute of Multimorbidity. You will have the potential to develop a professional career and ultimately provide technical support to a number of research groups. You will be trained in the skills necessary to support researchers and students in a biomedical laboratory environment, following set guidelines to refine, develop and troubleshoot techniques and methodologies to be utilised by other researchers and students.
Your primary role will be to ensure our laboratory environment is maintained to a high standard and meet health & safety standards. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake multidiscipline training regimes in all aspects of our research activities.
You will be an important part of the future of the Faculty of Health Sciences Technical Services team, with opportunities to play a wider role across the faculty. For candidates who progress and develop the appropriate experience, there will also be opportunities to perform independent research and to provide coaching and training to staff and students in experimental procedures, techniques and allied equipment.
Full support and guidance will be provided by the Head of Technical Services and other senior technicians and academic staff within the faculty.
