Technical Writer (University Policies) – Temp

All About You

Purpose of the Position: 

In partnership with the Office for University Compliance & Ethics, this position will contribute to a current project to update university policies. This position will write and provide content updates on university policies and procedures. What can you expect? Humor. Support. Flexibility. Good humans. And an inside look at compliance in higher education. This is part-time/temporary position. Join us!

Duties:

  • Participate in kick-off meetings with SLU policy owner/s. Review existing policy and procedures highlighting areas to be updated, establish deliverables and timeline.

  • Independently, create an updated version of the policy based on details from the kickoff meeting. 

  • Go through iterative process of getting feedback from supervisor, making edits and returning an updated version in a timely manner. 

  • When updated policy and procedure is in final draft form, present it to the policy owner for final review and approval. 

  • SLU will follow its policy review process after the step above

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Communication and problem solving skills

  • Complete projects on time

  • Experience with using Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Docs

  • Demonstrated strong writing and editing skills

This is a hybrid position with onboarding and kick-off meetings to be on campus.
