The School or Creative Arts and Media brings together students, staff, researchers, and industry across Fine Arts, Design, Media, Music, and Theatre and Performance.
The Opportunity
In your new role as the Technical Officer (Performance), you will provide technical and operational support for practice-based research, teaching and learning spanning all theatre performance as well as music streams. Additionally, you will support projects and other performance events, maintain equipment, studio, and performance spaces, and assist users to navigate the creative and technology-infused spaces.

Key Accountabilities:
- Assist with the coordination, preparation and maintenance of studio, performance and learning spaces, plant, music, sound, lighting, and equipment.
- Provide specialised technical support and assistance for the delivery of learning and teaching activity.
- Set up and operate lighting, sound, and multimedia equipment.
- Undertake scheduled preventative work and on demand repairs and maintenance for plant and equipment.
- Actively participate in general site and studio specific risk management inspections.
Your Application
To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;
- A Diploma or Bachelor level qualification in theatre, music or sound production with relevant work-related experience, or an equivalent level of professional competence and experience.
- Performance-related technology training and professional experience in recording, event production, post-production.
- Excellent working knowledge across IT hardware and systems.
- Technical skills and knowledge in the use of, instruction and training in relevant plant, equipment and associated contemporary practice.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant workplace health and safety regulation and behaviour that promotes a safe and healthy workplace.
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $96,794 comprising base salary within the range of $74,080 to $82,730 plus 17% superannuation.
