The Opportunity

The Department of Civil Engineering has an opportunity for a Technical Officer to perform a variety of tasks to support the living laboratory, remote sensing laboratory and associated fieldwork projects with multidisciplinary research including engineering, geography, environmental science and science.

As the successful candidate you will be involved in fieldwork, development of laboratory test apparatus, data collection and analysis, undertake experiments and field trials.

The Technical Officer will have:

  • A degree in science or engineering or a relevant trade certificate and experience
  • Experience with specialist environmental sensing equipment
  • A background in science or chemistry or physics or electronic or programming field
  • Analytical, technical and data analysis skills
  • Working at heights and 4WD training would be a benefit
