  • Commencement Salary: $84,539 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

The Team Leader: Scholarships,
Graduations and Records is responsible for leading best practice
scholarship and grant processes, along with monitoring and improving
delivery of student service, coordinating graduation processes and
issuance of student records. The position provides leadership and
support for performance management and development, induction, and
training of new and existing staff in the Scholarships, Graduations
and Records team.

Some out of hours work will be required
with this role.

Student and Academic Services (SAS) provides
senior leadership in student and academic administration in a
distributed service environment. It is responsible for the development
and maintenance of policy, information systems and procedural
frameworks. The Unit coordinates and provides quality assurance for a
number of University functions including student admissions,
enrolments, examinations, graduations, student finance and
scholarships.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, management and
    mentoring to the Scholarships, Graduations and Records team
    members, including induction, performance management and
    professional development, team building, knowledge transfer and
    promoting a culture of customer service and continuous improvement
  • Prioritise and manage competing
    demands for staff resources and build capability within the team
    based on individual and team development needs
  • Promote an open and harmonious work environment
  • Coach staff in conflict management,
    communication and assertiveness
  • Manage and lead best practice
    graduation and scholarships processes, schedules and
    documentation, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and
    procedures across the Graduations, Scholarships and Records team,
    and where necessary undertake processes and activities as part of
    the team

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a
    relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience,
    knowledge and skills
  • Proven coordination, work planning
    and team leadership skills to build an effective team and achieve
    high standards in customer service and stakeholder management
  • High level interpersonal,
    negotiation and relationship building skills to establish positive
    working relationships with team members, customers and external stakeholders
  • Highly developed written and verbal
    communication skills together with strong analytical thinking and
    problem-solving ability
  • Proven ability to work under
    pressure, manage competing demands and produce high quality
    outputs within limited timeframes
