Team Leader: Academic Services (HEO 6)

  • Based in UniSA Business at the City West campus
  • Full-time, continuing position
  • Commencement Salary: $84,539 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role 

The Team Leader: Academic Services is the Academic Unit’s key reference point for academic administration and is a conduit between UniSA Business and central units. They are responsible for ensuring the correct and consistent interpretation and application of the University’s academic administration policies and procedures within the Academic Unit.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, performance management and professional development to professional staff within UniSA Business as assigned
  • Manage the administrative activities undertaken by the Research Services team to ensure that they are being completed in a timely manner and in line with University policy and procedure
  • Contribute to the Academic Unit’s strategic planning and review processes in relation to academic and research administration relating to the assessment and analysis of the Academic Unit’s performance across all programs, courses and research concentrations. Provide reports and recommendations to support the achievement of teaching, learning and research objectives
  • Work with key internal and external stakeholders to complete appropriate research, analysis and documentation to ensure that the Academic Unit’s programs comply with relevant legislation, statutory body requirements and the policies of relevant professional industry bodies
  • Support the program development and review processes for UniSA Business, including development of documentation, successful integration with programs in Academic Units and other academic administration activities and the provision of executive support to the relevant committees, in collaboration with relevant professional staff within the Academic Unit

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrated previous experience working in a senior administrative position in a complex service environment, including leading, managing and developing a team in the provision of superior quality customer service
  • High level verbal and interpersonal and problem-solving skills including experience in liaising with people at all levels both internal and external to an organisation to provide advice and recommendations to senior staff
  • High level writing and numeracy skills appropriate to prepare briefings, data analysis and/or reports based on self-initiated or directed research, investigation and analysis for a wide range of audiences
  • Highly developed research and analytical skills and experience in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures
