FTE: 0.6 FTE (working 22.2 hours per week)
Duration of Contract: One-year fixed term
Salary: UH6 £29,619 pro-rata per annum to £35,333 pro-rata per annum on achieving designated skills and experience.
Location: de Havilland Campus, Hatfield
There is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Hertfordshire Business School’s team supporting our students You will work within a friendly and collegiate team on the Accounting programme.
Main duties and responsibilities
The Teaching Fellow will support the provision of teaching, student support and administration at undergraduate and postgraduate level within the school. They will provide support to academic staff in the delivery of Learning and Teaching on large HBS modules. They will support academics by assisting them with the set-up of online resources, assessment administration, groupwork administration, module feedback and with technology and activities in the classroom and online.
You will also coordinate Peer-assisted Learning (PALs) on selected modules using PAL Leaders and/or Support the Programme Leader in co-ordinating the personal tutoring system and support in monitoring the student back on track system.
Skill and experience required
Whilst it would be advantageous if applicants had experience of digital and interactive educational resources and experience of supporting learning and teaching or training and experience in working with education providers and academics, it is essential that they have good IT/digital skills, the ability to work in and co-ordinate teams and the ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships with colleagues and students.
You will need to demonstrate a proactive attitude to identify and meet staff and student needs and have experience or a willingness to be involved in module development and administration. In addition, you will need to be proficient in verbal and written English.
Qualifications required
Degree (or equivalent qualification), or higher qualification or proven professional work experience at an appropriate level.
