- £32348 to £43414 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
The Department of Foundation Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS) in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham has an established reputation for delivering high quality, innovative and engaging engineering and science education to learners on our foundation and degree level apprenticeship programmes. Learners on these programmes often have diverse educational backgrounds and different starting points/mixed learning needs.
We seek a new member of the team to develop and deliver high quality teaching and tutorial support to our learners, with a focus on teaching foundation year engineering and science students.
Reporting to the Head of Department, the successful candidate will teach a range of engineering and science modules through the delivery of high quality lectures, tutorials and demonstrations. The successful candidate will also write and assess examinations, create and assess laboratory experiments and direct and supervise laboratory classes and project work as required. They will also provide personal tutorial support and pastoral care for allocated groups of students.
Candidates must have experience of teaching engineering/science topics at FHEQ level 3 and/or above.
Candidates must hold a degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences or a related discipline.
A high level of computer literacy and proficiency in MATLAB is highly desirable.
A teaching accreditation would also be an advantage.
You will be able to develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels, and you will have a passion to deliver the highest possible standards of student learning experience.
This role is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours). Job share arrangements may be considered. Please note that this is a permanent TEACHNG ONLY post; there will not be opportunities to pursue other research interests.
