Title of Course: Gender and Violence

Compensation 

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. 

  • Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate – $22.07 per hour.
  • Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate – $34.73 per hour.
  • In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.

Duties 

The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required.

Qualifications 

  • A completed BA is required. The candidate must have substantial, demonstrable training in women’s and/or gender studies, graduate level training preferred.
  • Minimum 80% (GPA) in Women’s and/or Gender Studies courses.
  • Knowledge of the course subject matter is required
  • Ability to perform the various duties of the position.
  • Must be dependable and have strong time management skills.
  • Evidence of on-going professional development an asset.

Please Note: This course may be held virtually online and/or face to face during the term. It will be expected that you will be able to deliver the course material in either format.
