Who are we Looking For?
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to compliment our team!
Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting the child care centre as directed.
This position will be at our Viola Desmond centre for 37.5 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 4:00PM.

Pay: $22.45/hr. (including wage grants)
What are we Looking For?
To be considered for this role, the right candidate will have the following qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum Secondary School diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children OR Related experience in a childcare setting, working with school age children is preferred
Education: Diploma in Early Childhood Education OR diploma in a related field is a definite asset
Certifications
Standard First Aid with CPR level C
Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Proof of up to date immunization for TB, Tetanus and MMR
Proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
Demonstrates awareness and knowledge of How Does Learning Happen is an asset

What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for the ongoing operation of a high-quality childcare centre for children infant to 12 years of age.
The successful candidate will:
Work in consultation with other staff to provide age-appropriate development programs to enhance the individual and group’s cognitive, physical, social, cultural and emotional development
Supervise children at times and ensuring their safety by recognizing potentially hazardous situations so that they may be prevented
Conduct consistent behaviour guidance in accordance with the UFCC Behavioural Management Policy, while recognizing the individual nature of each child
Clean food service area, disinfect tables, sweep floors and organize food carts after use
Collect, wash, dry and fold laundry as needed
