Introduction to Biotechnology
Compensation
Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.
Duties
The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required. The nominal workload for this position is 5 or 10 hours per week.
Qualifications
1. MSc in Biology, Biotechnology or currently enrolled in a graduate program in biology, biotechnology or related discipline or have successfully TA’d this course in the last 5 years.
2. Demonstrated competence working for at least 3 months in a BIOL/BTECH industry and /or research program
