The Lead Teacher works cooperatively with other members of the teaching team as well as administration to support the effective daily operation of the classroom and actively contributes towards a professional and collaborative work setting. The Lead Teacher implements and contributes to weekly curriculum daily lessons/experiences and educational programming within the framework of the school philosophy. This individual participates in classroom and program research and conducts child/program assessments while delivering high quality instruction. The Lead Teacher works towards child and classroom goals in conjunction with the Master Teacher concerning data and research outcomes. The Lead Teacher also provides mentorship and supervision to students and interns with support from the Master Teacher. Conferences are conducted at least twice yearly with families producing assessment reports/documentation. The Lead Teacher will attend ongoing professional development programming and participate in staff meetings. The Lead Teacher will update the ChildPlus database for the classroom. Finally the Lead Teacher will adhere to all licensing and Step-Up to Quality requirements complete any trainings and follow policies required by The Ohio State University adhere to and implement the Head Start Performance Standards and reporting requirements and complete documentation for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) standards and reporting requirements.
65% Works cooperatively to support the effective daily operation of the classroom and actively contributes towards a professional and collaborative work setting. Implements and contributes to weekly curriculum, daily lessons/experiences, and educational programming within the framework of the school philosophy; participates in classroom and program research; conducts child/program assessments to provide reports and documentation for family conferences; works towards child and classroom goals established by master teacher with regards to data and research outcomes; to present the assessment reports/documentation for conferences with families; updates ChildPlus database in classroom; adheres to all licensing and Step-Up to Quality requirements; Adheres and implements the Head Start Performance Standards and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) standards and reporting requirements. 
25% Provides supervision of students and interns; updates classroom documentation; attends ongoing professional development programming; 
10% Participates in staff meetings and serves as the classroom or school representative on department, college, university, and community committees/projects as needed; other duties as assigned.

Additional Information:

Minimum Education Required
Child Development Associate Credential/Associate’s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in educa-early & middle childhood
Required Qualifications
Required: Work experience in early childhood education child development or a related field with minimum one (1) year experience in teaching
infant toddler or preschool age children. Physical demands required for this position include: communicate through talking and hearing walk sit use of hands reach and lift stoop kneel crouch or crawl and otherwise actively engage in physical activities with young children including sitting on child-sized furniture gross motor/outdoor play and getting up and down off of the floor repeatedly required to lift children up to 50 pounds 20/20 corrected vision Required training and certification: All employees are required to complete and maintain certification in first aid/communicable disease infant/child CPR child abuse recognition training and any other ODJFS/ODE mandated training. Complete FBI/BCI background check
Desired: Pre-K to grade 3 teaching license for some positions.
Child Development Associates credential acceptable with appropriate experience.

Target hiring range: $16.75-$19.00/hourly.
