If you’re looking for new challenges every day, opportunities for growth, and a team on the forefront of travel-related transaction tax, then you’ve come to the right place.What you’ll do:Coordinate, prepare, and review various state and local U.S. indirect gross receipt-based tax returns utilizing technology solutions such as Alteryx and Tableau to effectively manage large compliance data sets. Apply your indirect tax knowledge to proactively identify, review, and implement changes that ensure the accuracy and completeness of Expedia Group’s compliance obligationsAssist with various state and local U.S filing obligations such as sales and lodging, use, property tax and unclaimed property as neededCollaborate with other business groups to understand the tax impact of business operations and ensure proper indirect tax obligations are addressedPerform research and analysis and apply applicable laws to Expedia Group’s indirect tax obligations. Communicate and implement findings and resolutions with various internal and external partnersContribute to indirect tax project work as required on a variety of business advisory, financial reporting, transactional tax data, and tax research and analysis projectsActively engage in day to day activities to facilitate change for the betterWork as an integral part of the tax team to assist with the overall duties to accomplish the goals of the teamWho you are:BA/BS degree in accounting or related field1+ years of tax experience in a corporate tax department or public accounting firmCPA license or actively working towards attainmentMasters in tax or accounting is a plus, but not requiredPossess or the desire to gain knowledge of basic indirect tax rules and concepts with the ability to apply it to the various compliance processesExcellent researcher and problem-solver, able to analyze, compare, evaluate, and reconcile tax data and learn from itProficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in managing large data sets in ExcelExperience or a desire to learn basic SQL and automation tools such as Alteryx, Tableau and UIPathPossess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to explain tax concepts to individuals who do not possess knowledge of tax compliance mattersAble to prioritize and manage multiple tasks within a restrictive due date delivery timeframeSelf-starter and diligent problem solverStrong team player willing to assist where neededThrives and desires to work in a dynamic workspaceHave ability and willingness to accept internal and external feedback and change course of actionPrefers to drive and/or adjust to change, not be complacentHave a collaborative and collegial professional demeanor*LI-LS2About Expedia GroupExpedia Group (NASDAQ: EXPE) powers travel for everyone, everywhere through our global platform.
