Job Description

The Student Business Coordinator will support Vessel Operations and Emergency Management.  This position will require the employee to be attentive to the administrative and operational needs of the units and actively work to complete the tasks assigned by the Director.  This is a unique position which offers a student the ability to gain business knowledge and experience as it directly relates to the maritime industry.

Roles And Responsibilities:

  • Create purchase requisitions and process invoices.
  • Schedule student employee interviews.
  • Compile, organize, and file trip packets.
  • Compile reports and planning documents as needed and requested.
  • Create and maintain social media platforms for each unit.
  • Assist in special projects and assignments for unit.

General Qualifications:

  • Ability to work fall, spring, and summer semesters.
  • Microsoft Office experience (ie Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Social media experience (ie Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc).
  • Ability to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information in English.
  • Ability to use basic math. Ability to be given data and create reports.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Must be willing to go aboard vessel trips as needed.
