Do you want to be part of a team that are pivotal in ensuring the right people are recruited for the right jobs?  If so, this is the job for you…

The University of Hull has a diverse workforce and is an anchor employer within the region. We undertake high volumes of recruitment across a wide range of academic and professional services roles throughout the year. The University’s HR Directorate continues to develop at the University, for which there now exists an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the Talent Acquisition team as a Talent Acquisition Officer.

As a Talent Acquisition Officer, you will promote the University of Hull as an employer of choice and oversee the onboarding process, acting as an internal consultant and specialist advisor in relation to all aspects of the attraction and recruitment process including positive action initiatives. You will work closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs and advise hiring managers on different sourcing and selection methodologies, ensuring we are creative and use the right channels to secure and retain the best talent.

This specialist team will create an attraction strategy and deliver an operational plan to attract talent to the University. The recruitment to a high number of vacancies will require a flexible approach and dynamic and innovative identification, development and utilisation of channels/opportunities for seeking out and attracting the best people to the University, to support our strategic aim of being recognised an inclusive employer of choice.

Motivated by society’s challenges and inspired by the power of our global community, we are shaping a fairer, brighter and carbon neutral future – with our primary focus to be a carbon neutral campus by 2027, in alignment with our centaury year.

With knowledge and experience of HR, batch-recruitment, E-Recruitment systems and social media platforms, you will have strong organisational skills, ability to multitask and have excellent attention to detail. You will be able to work upon your own initiative and take steps to engage regularly with key stakeholders to understand their needs, while seeking opportunities to test new ways of working to make improvements on policy, process or candidate experience. The Talent Acquisition Officer is not a transactional filling vacancies role. The role requires a specialist individual who undertakes talent acquisition as an ongoing strategy to find specialists, leaders, or future researchers and executives for the University. The role will focus on long-term human resources planning and finding appropriate candidates for positions that require a very specific skillset, which can help the University grow, develop and be more competitive.

Joining the University’s HR Directorate, you will not only be part of the Talent Acquisition team, but part of a wider HR team who are passionate about the value and contribution the HR profession can make to help the organisation achieve its vision. The University has policies in place to support a good work-life balance and employee wellbeing, from generous annual leave; hybrid-working practices to training and development opportunities. This is the time to #FindYourExtraordinary at the University of Hull.

The position is full-time at 36.5 hours per week, for which a hybrid-working framework is evident within our organisation, in supporting our people do what they do best.
