Systems Engineer – Security

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer (Security) to join us on a permanent full-time basis. The Systems Engineer will be embedded on site with our enterprise customer in Perth CBD. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of securing infrastructure systems, including networks, servers, and cloud environments. You will be responsible for implementing security measures, identifying vulnerabilities, and ensuring the integrity and security of our customers enterprise environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identifying IT threats and software vulnerabilities.
  • Stabilising then uplifting the maturity and capability of the customers’ existing security function.
  • Configuring, integrating, and troubleshooting tasks across a range of tools and applications.
  • Assessing, identifying, and fixing system-related problems.
  • Providing solutions to issues that arise daily on site.
  • Work closely with our customer and their Security function.

About You:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Security Engineer role or similar.
  • Proven experience securing enterprise network and server infrastructure, including both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Expertise in network security concepts and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
  • Experience with Azure cloud security practices and tools.
  • Proficiency in vulnerability assessment methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of system hardening techniques and secure configuration practices.
  • Familiarity with security monitoring and logging tools, including SIEM systems.
  • Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and their security configurations.
  • Skills in scripting or programming (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating security tasks and analysis.
