We are looking for a Sustainability Project Officer who will develop new project initiatives and partnership proposals to drive sustainable business development across Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Administration:
- Compile comprehensive overviews of sustainability initiatives across Business Units.
- Contribute to designing and implementing a project KPI framework in collaboration with the data management team.
- Administer key sustainable business opportunities and conduct literature research to support project development.
- Facilitate integration of digital data tools into sustainability projects across Business Units.
Project Fundraising:
- Conduct market research to identify potential funding sources for sustainability projects.
- Draft proposals in partnership with Business Units, encompassing Project Rationale, Budget Overviews, Theories of Change, and Business Cases.
- Coordinate with external consultants to enhance project proposals.
- Ensure seamless handover of approved projects to Business Units for implementation.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, sustainability, or natural resources management.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project development in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, or Southeast Asia.
- Proficient in project writing, with a focus on sustainability.
- Familiarity with carbon accounting, social and environmental supply chain issues, climate change, deforestation, gender empowerment, and farmer capacity building.
- Previous experience in a commercial environment, preferably in corporate sustainability.
