Job Description
The Materials-Distribution Department is responsible for providing centralized control and oversight of medical/surgical supplies throughout University Hospital East. Position serves as front-line, supply chain services provider to in-patient Nursing, Emergency Room, Operating Room and Endoscopy units at University Hospital East. Provides customer service in storeroom by providing comprehensive supply chain support to our customers. Also delivers linen and equipment as needed and serves as liaison with various hospital customers.
Position Summary: Position serves as one of two Supply Chair Coordinator?s responsible for ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying and distributing medical-surgical supplies/equipment and linen for eleven cost centers/units. Orders, receives and unloads stock. Responsible for monitoring inventory to ensure sufficient supply levels to meet customer needs, analyzing trends in usage and maintaining financial stewardship expectations. Responsible for developing and maintaining cost-saving strategies for supply expenses. Responsible for verifying and processing storeroom billing. Serves as liaison to nursing staff and other hospital customers. Delivers and consolidates linen and delivers portable equipment as needed.
Minimum Education Required

HS Graduate or Equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
High school graduate with at least 2 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Inventory control experience in a hospital setting preferred.
