The Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of the Financial Counselors which includes staffing, timekeeping, performance evaluations, team support and guidance. Other duties include: maintaining quality customer service standards for Patient Access operations, problem solving, and excellent communication skills with a focus on teamwork, collaboration and professionalism that supports all aspects of UC San Diego’s core values. General duties include: expert knowledge of public assistance program regulations, insurance requirements and the reimbursement process. Staff training, report writing and data analysis, curriculum development, and systems management.

• Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.

• Experience and proven success to supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily admissions and registration activities of subordinate staff and effectively manage multiple priorities on deadline.

• Previous Leadership experience such as lead or supervisor.

• Insurance and preferred Public Programs experience.

• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
