Summary of Duties:

The Student Services Specialist is responsible for assisting in developing, implementing and administering programs and initiatives related to prospective and current graduate students in assigned areas of Graduate Student Services. Responsibilities include analyzing and processing applications, transfer evaluations and transcripts; assessing academic level, responding to academic inquiries, developing individual academic plans. Helps to administer academic programs related to recruitment, retention, and graduation efforts.

Required Qualifications:

Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Documented experience working effectively as a member of a team.

  • Experience with online student information systems.

  • Experience with Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of applicant and student credential evaluation.
