The Arts & Sciences Student Services & Admissions Office is a large and dynamic unit devoted to delivering excellent service to students, faculty and staff. The Opportunity

The Student Services & Admissions Assistant is an integral team member in the Arts & Sciences Student Services & Admissions Office.  The office staff support a one-stop student services model for the college’s 4,600 undergraduate students from time of admission to graduation. This position provides broad-based administrative assistance to the core of our mission, including admissions, registrar and advising. 

Serving as the first point of contact for the Student Services & Admissions Office, the assistant fosters a welcoming environment for visitors, students, faculty and staff, and delivers a consistently high level of service. Primary areas of responsibility include front desk assistance, student record maintenance, admissions application processing, and visitor information session support. The assistant also coordinates appointment scheduling.

This position reports to the Director of Administration/Registrar, assists and collaborates with admissions, registrar and advising colleagues, serves as a resource to department undergraduate coordinators, and partners with staff in the Undergraduate Admissions Office on visitor information session scheduling and tracking.

Required Qualifications

  • HS Diploma; more than 2 years’ and less than 4 years’ relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A strong focus on customer service and positive interactions
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong organizational techniques and attention to detail 
  • The propensity to work well as part of a team. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
  • The aptitude to learn and use new technology software. 
  • Experience in, or aptitude to quickly learn a variety of standard office software, including Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), FileMaker, and Salesforce.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with 25 live event scheduling, PeopleSoft, FileMaker, Salesforce, and Itinerary builder
