Department Summary The Toulouse Graduate School, with its outstanding faculty, high academic standards, and diverse student body, provides abundant opportunities for graduate students by offering over 100 master’s and doctoral programs in a variety of disciplines.
Position Overview Evaluates degree plans and other documents submitted by programs for doctoral and master’s students, to ensure that the plan of study adheres to the requirements for graduation as well as graduate catalog and university standards. This position assists with evaluation of Graduate Student Full-Time Enrollment forms in conjunction with the International Student and Scholar Services Office. The position assists with coordination of commencement ceremonies and supports graduation through degree plan processing, and provides customer service to UNT faculty, staff, and graduate students.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree and two years of office administration experience; or any equivalent
combination of education, training and experience.

Work Schedule Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm; w/occasional evenings and weekends.

Job Duties

o

Review degree plans, committee forms, transfer request forms, and degree plan change forms for all doctoral and master’s programs, for compliance with catalog and university requirements. Approve degree plans and other forms, and provide feedback to the program/department and students if additional information or changes are required.

o

Routinely audits all graduate student files for academic concerns and identify any issues that might hinder timely graduation for a student.

o

Review and process less than full time enrollment forms for International Student and Scholar Office.

o

Reviews time extension requests submitted by program for accuracy and eligibility for approval.

o

Reviews leave of absence requests submitted by programs for accuracy and eligibility for approval.

o

Evaluates Qualifying Examination forms submitted by programs for accuracy and eligibility for ABD (all but dissertation) status.

o

Assists in the review of graduation applications to ensure all degree requirements have been met prior to degree posting. Assist with commencement related tasks.

o

Maintain current and accurate faculty list of UNT faculty and outside faculty approved to serve on thesis and dissertation committees. Process faculty nominations submitted by academic departments, and conduct yearly review of faculty list.

o

Provide excellent customer service to graduate students and UNT faculty/staff regarding academics and degree plan related policies via email, phone, and in person contact.

o

Completes miscellaneous projects and tasks as needed.
