Stanford Online High School is also the home of Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies (SPCS) , which provides a diverse array of academic enrichment programs that take place mostly in the summer but also throughout the academic year. SPCS programs serve intellectually curious pre-college students from around the world.

The Student Life Coordinator will join the Outreach Programs team, which is responsible for planning, implementing, and managingSummer Institutes , Stanford Humanities Institute , Stanford University Mathematics Camp (SUMaC), Stanford Middle School Scholars Program and Stanford Math Circle . The Student Services Program Coordinator will serve as the lead coordinator for online programs. As such, you will have the opportunity to apply and enhance your project management skills to oversee the successful implementation of all program logistics and operations, including the planning and delivery of student support services. The Coordinator will collaborate cross functionally to plan, develop and implement academic enrichment programs for elementary, middle and high school students, held during the academic school year and primarily in the summer. This includes engaging in planning to determine and execute student life programming for enrichment programs. Your interest in collaborative project management and supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds are a strong alignment for this role.

The ideal candidate has past experience working in student affairs, particularly with pre-college students, and enjoys helping students, fielding questions, understanding and navigating policies, and handling detail-oriented work with a positive attitude. 

*Stanford Online High School and Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies offices are located at the Stanford Redwood City Campus , however this position is eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangement upon mutual agreement.* 

Your responsibilities include: 

• Develop, coordinate and execute virtual student life curriculum for SPCS summer programs: Summer Institutes Online (SIO), Stanford Middle School Scholars Program (SMSSP), and Stanford University Mathematics Camp (SUMaC). Maintain a regular presence during summer programs
• Oversee online incident response protocol, triaging student issues and providing counsel to students on a range of issues, such as code of conduct violations, academic progress and attendance policies. Manage workflow and forms for tracking and reporting out on incidents, absences, and student requests, elevating to senior staff when necessary
• Recruit, hire, train and manage virtual, seasonal student employees to support online student life programming and incident response for summer programs
• Support the DEIBA Director with coordinating SMSSP academic year workshops and events, contributing copy to SMSSP newsletter, and coordinating DEI events for Stanford OHS.
• Respond to inquiries, providing customer service to students, parents, and guardians, advising students on student activities, policies, and processes
• Collaborate with Records to oversee student feedback survey process; collect and analyze data from multiple sources including surveys, trend reports, and data analytics. Prepare and summarize reports
• Develop, analyze, and review policies, processes and programs by incorporating feedback and data learned from first-line interactions with students.
• Support program enrollment cycles by testing online applications and representing the programs in communication with campus partners and at pre-college program fairs
• Work collaboratively with program support teams, including Programs Directors, IT, Finance, HR, and Marketing, to ensure successful delivery of all program components
• Oversee administration of various financial processes for the Outreach team, including honoraria, financial transactions, understanding vendor requirements, following up and resolving issues
• Remain abreast of international student issues and concerns, as well as changing government regulations.
• Additional duties may include coordinating and attending  in-person events and online events for Outreach Programs or OHS during the summer or academic year.

To be successful in this position, you will bring: 

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
• Self-motivation, action-orientation, ability to work independently and cross-functionally and make sound decisions.
• Experience with crisis response, crisis management, and risk management.
• Experience working productively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, and the ability to discern how marginalized populations may have differing needs.
• Ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships with students, instructors, staff, parents, guardians, colleagues, and the public
• Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult issues and/or diverse organizations.
• Experience working in an independent school setting, in a higher education setting or with the 7-12 student population.
• Commitment to anti-bias education and diversity, equity, and inclusion, access and belonging, approaching work duties through this lens.
• Strong communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, and management.
• Relevant computer systems/technology experience.
• Understanding of financial transactions.
• Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.

In addition, preferred requirements include: 

• Advance degree and program administration experience.
• Advanced customer service skills.
• Advanced public speaking skills to present information to students, instructors, staff, parents, guardians, colleagues, and the public.
• Experience executing student life programming online.
• Knowledge of project management tools and best practices.
• Strong managerial and leadership skills with an ability to foster a cooperative work environment and to oversee and provide basic direction to staff.

Working Conditions:

• Routine extended working hours during peak cycles; travel to school/unit sites across university.
