As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.The Institute of Visual Computing and Human-Centered Technology, in the Research Unit of Computer Graphics of TU Wien is offering a position as student staff in research for 20 hours/week. Expected start: August 2024. This position is limited to 6 months, but no longer than the completion of a master’s or diploma degree.Tasks:

  • Investigating statistical techniques and simulation methodologies that are suitable for the quantification and modeling of various uncertainty types
  • Exploring and representing how uncertainty accumulates and spreads across processes
  • Integration of provenance solutions to track uncertainty lineage and its impact on visualization decisions
  • Assessing the efficacy of the aforementioned steps

Your profile:

  • Enrolled in a relevant master’s program (Visual Computing, Medical Informatics, or other related to Computer Science); No master’s degree in these fields
  • Prior knowledge in visualization, statistics, and machine learning (all are prerequisites)
  • Prior experience with Python and respective libraries for visualization, statistics, and machine learning
