As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Institute of Visual Computing and Human-Centered Technology, in the Research Unit of Computer Graphics TU Wien is offering a position as student staff in research/administration for 10 hours/week. Expected start: November 2024. This position is limited to expected 6 months, but no longer than the completion of a master’s or diploma degree.Tasks:

  • Committed collaboration in the preparation and implementation of projects – Vector map data should be rendered in 3D on a 2D manifold
  • Assist in decoding vector data from vector tiles
  • Help in implementing the renderer
  • Evaluation, graphical and performance comparison with alternative rendering methods
  • Preparing a publication

Your profile:

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
  • Experience in graphics programming with C++ and OpenGL ES
  • Experience with OpenStreetMap data processing and the martin tile server
  • Experience with Mapbox Vector Tiles (MVT)
  • Interest in 3D mapping services
  • Team- and communication skills
