Student Desk Assistant- Residence Life Student Staff Member

The Student Desk Assistant (SDA) is a part-time student staff position (minimum of 12 hours per week and maximum of 20 hours per week) earning an hourly Florida minimum wage. The SDA is responsible for assisting with all Area Office related functions in an efficient, knowledgeable, courteous, and professional manner that maintains high standards of service and hospitality. The SDA is supervised directly by the Hall Director (HD) and, indirectly, by other professional staff within the Department of Housing and Residence Life.

The role of the SDA is broad, but it encompasses a willingness to work daytime, evening, late night and weekend hours as scheduled, plus hours during holidays, and between academic terms. A background and positive experience in customer service, solid communication, and administrative skills are required. SDAs must have a respect for, and appreciation of, the diversity of the University Housing population.
