Student Data and Systems Assistant (Fees and Student Finance)

About the role: Student and Academic Services are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Fees and Student Finance Team in the Student Money Service. In this role you will have responsibilities for providing administrative support for a number of our student facing processes and activities, working with external agencies to ensure accurate reporting of data to meet compliance requirements and providing support to a number of action oriented working groups within the university.

This is an exciting time to join the team and to play a part in making a positive impact for our students and across the University in line with the wider UWE strategy.

You will become an expert within your particular portfolio with a working knowledge of the institution and the higher education funding context.

You will be responsible for managing your own work and working to support the rest of the Student Money Service Team. You will also have the ability to work closely with other departments internal and external to the university.

Comfortable with working in a fast-changing environment, you will support the delivery of a range of student facing activities and a number of key business processes related to students’ financial support while at the university as well as supporting the correct, timely and appropriate provision of advice, guidance and support to our students.

About you: We are looking for someone who is able to work in an environment delivering results within non-negotiable deadlines.

You will be ready to take ownership and accountability for your own workload. We require someone who is confident in upholding the Universities policy position even when meeting resistance from external teams, Academics and staff, coaching and influencing them to adhere to regulatory requirements in a positive and constructive manner, finding the best outcomes for all stake holders.

Ideally you will be familiar with the broader context of UWE, the local region, and Higher Education Funding in the UK.

Where is this role based?

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed – £300m has been invested in new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation while we continue to develop incredible new facilities  to enhance our offer even further.

Frenchay campus has excellent transport links ; as well as being located near the motorway network we are within walking distance of two train stations , our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.

This post is a permanent, full time post working 37 hours per week.

The University’s normal practice is that new appointments will be made at the starting point of the grade.

based, there may be an opportunity for remote working.
