| Preferred Education/Experience | We are happy to train anyone who is interested in this position, some experience does help the employee understand terms and speed. • Food handlers permit, (we will help you obtain). • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware. • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, etc.). • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures. • Ability to work in a team. • Very good communication skills. • Excellent physical condition and stamina. |

| Job Summary | You must be a current UK student to apply for this position. This position is located off-campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK. Sawyer’s cooks use a flat top grill, much like a short order type cook. Our cook plans, prepares, and cooks food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience for customers. The cook helps keep the kitchen organized and running efficiently. Responsibilities • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment. • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking. • Cook food on a flat top grill, prepare sandwiches, soups, chili. • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen. • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly. • Check quality of ingredients. • Monitor stock, food and supply ordering. |
| Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | High school diploma or equivalent; Other culinary/cooking experience will be an advantage |
