Position
The Student Community Engagement (SCE) Coordinator position is responsible for the development and execution of student engagement and outreach activities for the Faculty of Business to ultimately support and enhance the student experience (and student success) and improve student retention. Responsibilities include planning and executing engagement and student outreach events and strategies for the Business Undergraduate Office and other faculty departments (when appropriate), including launching a peer mentorship program, and more broadly, development of a robust volunteer management strategy. This role focuses on developing and implementing student related events that cultivate engagement and improve retention; developing and executing student outreach plans that are used to engage Business students; and functionally reports to the SCE Lead.
This position creates awareness by executing campaigns for Business students to increase student participation, as well as long-term student outreach campaigns. It also coordinates the production and execution of activities and materials to target current students and elevate the overall reputation of Business. This position liaises with internal and external agencies in its work to enhance the student experience.
As the student experience evolves, this role must be pro-active with initiatives, as well as support the ongoing distribution of the student newsletter, which will reach over 3,500 students weekly. This position also serves as a vital connection and liaison between students, Faculty, and other University stakeholders in key areas of student experiences.
