Department Summary The vision of the Career Readiness Education (CRED) program is to create a culture of life-long learning at UNT Dallas. The three goals that support this vision will be the foundation to integrate existing programs and resources to help build a culture where UNT Dallas students are self-motivated to pursue knowledge for professional success.
The three goals are:
• Students assess career options,
• Students test career expectations through direct exposure to workplace cultures, and
• Students evaluate strategies to maintain job-related effectiveness.
The CRED program will allow for a better alignment with curriculum and activities on campus, create a more enriching learning experience for students, while fostering cooperation among academic and student services offices.
Position Summary EXAMPLES OF WORK:
• Assist in raising awareness of the Career Readiness Education (CRED) program
• Create and update excel reports using data received from surveys, assignments, and rubrics
• Performs secretarial functions for administrators.
• Follow ups with students and faculty on forms, reports, and assessments.
• Plans or edits emails to students, faculty and staff as well as other marketing and informational materials.
• Prepares correspondences, workshop presentations, and meeting reports.
• Serves as departmental representative at events and for interdepartmental contacts as needed.
• Provides administrative support for periodic and special projects.
• Follows appropriate safety and security precautions related to work performed.
• Maintains a highly efficient, organized office that provides appropriate accessibility, security, and records management for high priority and sensitive materials
• Maintains systematic operating practices and record keeping systems.
• Updates and maintains databases, appointments, calendars, events, and special programming.
• Other duties as assigned

Additional Posting Details

Minimum Qualifications Currently enrolled UNT Dallas, UNT Dallas College of Law, HSC or UNT student in good standing and making satisfactory progress toward completion of a degree or certification program. Applicants must possess the following:
• Excellent customer service skills, as well as effective oral and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to create presentations, documents and spreadsheets.
• Some knowledge of office practices and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Good interpersonal skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds.
• Responsible, reliable and punctual.
• Ability to learn assigned tasks readily, to adhere to prescribed routines, and to develop some skill in the operation of common office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications • High level of attention to detail.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Required License / Registration / Certification
Work Schedule Students will work up to 19 hours per week Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Specific hours are set based on processing needs and student’s course schedule.
