Summary of Job Duties:

1. Be punctual and consistent – plan ahead and make arrangements to ensure
that you can fulfill your obligations on a strict schedule
2. Start job duties on time, stay on the job throughout shift, complete duties
3. Clean and organize Commuter Lounge throughout shift
4. Sit at Welcome Desk
5. Acknowledge, greet, and assist Lounge guests
6. Take messages and set up meetings
7. Restock Lounge items
8. Walk guests to other locations
9. Help with Lounge and office tasks
10. Assist staff as needed
All work is on-campus in ARKU 602 Commuter Lounge
10 hours/week – each shift is between 2-4 hours
Between 8 am and 6 pm
Required meeting with graduate assistant mentor every two weeks
– 30 minutes, day and time TBD
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty.
No evening or weekend work.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled full or part-time at the University of Arkansas

  • Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate student

  • Cleaning and organization skills

  • Customer service excellence – “above and beyond” work ethic

  • Thorough and attentive to detail

  • Desire and willingness to approach and offer assistance to Lounge guests

  • Courteous, helpful, and welcoming in appearance, body language, word choice, and behavior
