About This Opportunity
We are seeking motivated and organised Student Administration Officers in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences to provide high quality customer service through the delivery of friendly, helpful, accurate, and informative advice and services to students, professional and academic staff. This position is responsible for completing a diverse range of administrative processing tasks and associated day-to-day problem resolution and maintenance of administrative systems.
Key responsibilities will include:
Core Student Administration
Provide information and advice to students and staff on enrolment processes, applications for credit, graduation procedures and the policies, rules and procedures associated with a student’s progress within the learning environment.
Process routine documentation relating to enrolment, academic progression and graduation.
Liaise with other faculties, schools and Central Administration on specific student matters.
Assist with student enrolment surveillance and government and regulatory reporting processes in the faculty and its schools as required.
Provide on-site support to school based student administration teams as required.
General
Assist with the implementation and review of strategies and work practices which will improve the workflow, efficiency and effectiveness of Student Administration.
Represent the Faculty at Courses and Careers Days, UQ Open Day and other engagement and outreach activities as required.
Other duties as reasonably directed.

About You
The successful candidates will require effective administration, coordination and interpersonal communication skills, effective organisational and time management skills and be committed to providing a high level of customer service, as well as the following criteria:
A degree or diploma with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education.
Demonstrated skills in providing a high level of customer service, including effective interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Effective organisational, time management and problem solving skills.
Experience working as a team member in a busy environment.
Working knowledge of university administrative systems, policies and procedures or the capacity to rapidly acquire this knowledge.
What We Can Offer
We have four positions available, as follows:
Three full-time, continuing positions at HEW Level 5.
One full-time, fixed term position through to 20 October 2023 at HEW Level 5.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $72,212 – $80,430 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $84,488 – $94,103 per annum.
The following flexible employment options may be available for this role: Some working from home; variable start or finish times; purchased leave; flex-time.
