Job Description:

The University Bursar is accepting applications for a Student Account Specialist I. The University Bursar’s office is located in the Finance & Accounting division and is part of the Sponsored Student Billings team.  The Sponsored Student Billings team coordinates and processes student and sponsor contracts/transactions, including Florida Prepaid and Veteran benefits.  This position assists with the day to day operations of the Sponsored Student Billings Team, including coordinating documentation requirements from students and sponsors, applying contracts to the student and sponsor accounts, invoicing sponsors, applying payments from sponsors and refunding overpayments.  The incumbent in the position will deliver excellent customer service to students and ensure the timely resolution of issues.

This position is responsible for communicating with sponsors and students to obtain the necessary documentation for sponsorship, as well as creating and processing billed contracts for sponsored students’ tuition and fees and submits invoices to sponsor for payment through mail or sponsor portal.  

Expected Salary:

$16.75 – $19.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience. 

Minimum Requirements:

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate files, records, and work assignments.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to work independently and as a team.
Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
Experience in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
Ability to determine work priorities, assign work and ensure proper completion of work assignments

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
